Reckitt’s flagship campaign, Dettol Banega Swasth India (BSI), marked Global Handwashing Day 2024 by educating 30 million children across India on essential hand hygiene practices. Themed “Clean Hands for All: Advancing Health Equity through Hygiene,” the initiative highlighted BSI’s dedication to providing hygiene knowledge to children from diverse backgrounds.
This year’s campaign, supported by over 100 partners, reached children in 29 states and 7 union territories through the Dettol School Hygiene Education programme. With participation from various schools, including Sarvodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas, BSI successfully promoted proper handwashing techniques. In a bid to modernize engagement, the campaign also launched an AI-powered chatbot, “Hygieia For Good Hygiene,” available in seven languages and aimed at broadening accessibility.
In Shillong, the response from local schools has been overwhelmingly positive, as the market embraces the initiative to foster health-conscious practices among children. Local educators emphasize the campaign’s relevance in enhancing community health standards, showcasing a strong commitment to integrating hygiene education into everyday life.
