A petrol bomb was allegedly hurled at the Meghalaya State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers’ Federation Limited (MeCOFED) Mawiong wholesale regulated market at Mawiong Umjapung in the early hours of Saturday, causing minor damage to the main door of the premises.
Police said the incident is suspected to have occurred sometime between 1 am and 5 am.
“There was no major damage, except minor singeing of the main door,” East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.
He said a case was being registered in connection with the incident.
