Usha International, a leading name in the sewing machine industry, has awarded the coveted ‘NIFT Best Garment Construction Award 2024’ to Sawakani War during the Graduation Showcase of the 2024 NIFT batch held in Shillong. This prestigious accolade, presented annually since 2000, recognizes outstanding talent among budding fashion designers across 16 NIFT centers in India.
At the ceremony, War was awarded a Usha Janome Allure DLX automatic sewing machine, a certificate, and a cash prize of INR 10,000. The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, and Meghalaya Chief Minister Shri Conrad K. Sangma, who celebrated the creativity showcased by students.
