Shillong observes centenary of Netaji’s first visit to city

Doorstep of Centenary of Netaji’s first visit to Shillong was celebrated with great honour at State Central Library Premises today, 12th June to mark the occasion.

Students of Shillong College and Netaji Admirers from different places of Shillong joined the morning tribute programme.

Mr K.Tharme illuminated the historic lamp. He also cut the cake and paid floral tribute to Netaji at his feet. In her welcome speech organiser Smt Malabika Bisharad narrated the brief history of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 5 times visit to Shillong.

She also extended her thanks to the Director Arts and Culture Meghalaya for supporting to organise the programme. Smt Jaya Choudhary, Purabi Roy Chowdhury and Minati Ghosh sang the famous song , “Kadam Kadam Bara e Ja..” to pay honour to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Cakes and chocolates were distributed to the Netaji Admirers.

The programme was concluded with National Anthem by all.
