The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has been awarded accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, globally regarded as the gold standard in management education.
This landmark achievement places IIM Shillong among an elite group of business schools worldwide that have met AACSB’s rigorous standards of excellence in teaching, research, curriculum, learner success, and societal impact.
AACSB accreditation is earned by less than 6 per cent of business schools globally, making it one of the most respected recognitions in the field of management education.
In India, only around 30 institutions hold the accreditation, with IIM Shillong becoming one of the few Indian Institutes of Management to receive the distinction.
The accreditation was granted after an extensive peer-review evaluation process that accessed the Institute’s academic framework, teaching standard, research output, curriculum, and societal impact.
Speaking on the achievement, Prof Naliniprava Tripathy said the recognition reflects the collective dedication and efforts of the entire IIM Shillong community. She added that the institute would continue working towards its strategic goals and AACSB commitments over the coming years while further strengthening its global standard.
According to the institute, the accreditation is expected to create new avenues for global academic collaborations, international partnerships and student exchange opportunities.
Established in 2007, IIM Shillong has emerged as a prominent institution in sustainability-focused management education.
