The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Meghalaya, celebrated its Sthapana Diwas (Foundation Day) and Krishna Janmashtami with a special programme on Sunday at Rajasthan Vishram Bhawan, Luckier Road, Garikhana, Shillong.
The event featured prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the Art Competition. The programme also featured devotional bhajans, addresses by invited guests, and the felicitation of the winners.
Eminent personalities of Shillong such as Prabhat Kanti Paul, Pravin Shewale, and in-charge of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Swami Purnabratananda, graced the momentous occasion as guests.
Students, parents, devotees, and members of the public attended the celebrations in all its grandeur. The organisers said the event aims to commemorate the organisation’s foundation while celebrating Krishna Janmashtami in a spirit of devotion, unity, and community participation.
