ICICI Life Insurance targets 20,000 women advisors through its Narishakti initiative

ICICI Life Insurance Limited plans to recruit 20,000 women advisors across India by the end of FY2027 under its Narishakti initiative, expanding opportunities for women to build careers in financial services while strengthening the insurer’s distribution network.

Announced during Navratri, the recruitment drive marks the second anniversary of the initiative, launched in 2024 to help women become financial planners without upfront investment. The programme combines training and professional support with flexible working schedules, enabling homemakers, salaried professionals and businesswomen to balance family responsibilities with career development and financial independence.

As of September 30, 2026, the company had more than 78,000 women advisors, who represented around 32% of its total advisor base but contributed approximately 45% of its agency business. Their contribution exceeded 50% in Bengaluru, Kerala and Mumbai. Nearly 47% of its women advisors had been associated with the company for more than 10 years.

Amish Banker, Chief Distribution Officer of ICICI Life Insurance Limited, said, “We, at ICICI Life Insurance, firmly believe that ‘Talent has no gender’.”

He highlighted women’s empathy, commitment, loyalty, multitasking and problem-solving abilities as valuable strengths in understanding customer needs and building lasting relationships.

The company said the initiative would equip more women with the skills and support needed to expand their professional opportunities while advancing the government’s vision of “Insurance for All by 2047” and widening insurance access for families across India.
