Police personnel have been stationed at IGP, Malki Point and Madan Malki since this Wednesday morning following reports that residents of Lapangap intended to march towards the Secretariat. Security deployment at Malki Point was intensified after authorities received information that the protesters would first gather there before proceeding towards the Secretariat. The rally planned by the people of Lapangap aims to draw government’s attention to problems arising out of border dispute between Meghalaya and Assam at Lapangap.
