
The 13th Regional Principals’ Conference of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Silchar Region, commenced at La Nicholas Resort, Shillong.
It has brought together Principals from 31 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the four North-Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram for a three-day conference on academic excellence, innovation, and institutional development
The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional welcome of the distinguished dignitaries. Dr. Anurag Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Silchar, was accorded a warm reception by the teaching fraternity. He was accompanied by Shri Satyaveer Singh, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Silchar, along with senior KVS officials Shri K Alung Khumba, Principal, KV NEHU and Shillong cluster in-charge and Shri M. B. Chettri, Principal, KV Laitkor Peak, whose presence added dignity to the occasion.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Deputy Commissioner, symbolising the triumph of knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. This was followed by the felicitation of Assistant Commissioner by Dr. Anurag Yadav with a green welcome, reflecting KVS’ commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Adding colour and cultural vibrance to the programme, the students of PM SHRI KV NEPA Barapani presented a melodious welcome song, followed by a captivating and graceful Nepalese dance. The performances beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of the North-East and received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
The inaugural ceremony set an enthusiastic tone for the conference. The main agenda points to be discussed during the conference will be administrative matters, academic matters, Bharat Scouts & Guides, finance matters, CGHS facilities, promotion of Hindi alongwith regional languages, which will continue till 24th July 2026. Furthermore, the event reflects KVS’ unwavering commitment to nurturing visionary leadership and promoting excellence in education.
