Meghalaya names U-23 squad for Col CK Nayudu Trophy

The Meghalaya Cricket Association has named its squad for the second half of the U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2025-26, which will commence later this month. In contrast to most other state teams this season, Meghalaya are in the Col CK Nayudu elite group and have been up against some of the best teams in the country in Elite Group A. They lost two matches but held out for an inspiring draw against Goa at home in November. Meghalaya are seventh out of eight teams in the group, with Kerala at the bottom. Meghalaya referee Riiohlang Dhar named on FIFA international panel for 2026

Riiohlang Dhar has once again been selected for the FIFA Refereeing International list for the year 2026. This was informed by the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF’s) Referee Department to the Meghalaya Football Association on 31st December. Dhar, a FIFA-level assistant referee, has officiated at numerous international events over the years. She became only the second Indian match official at a World Cup at 2024’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. A statement issued here informed that the KSU activists promptly handed the individuals over to the Umkiang Police Patrolling Post for further investigation. Police Bazaar turns vehicle-free today for New Year’s Eve celebrations in Shillong

Shillong is welcoming New Year’s Eve with festive spirit today, and Police Bazaar has been turned into a vehicle-free zone from this evening to make space for walkers and visitors. From 5 pm today, vehicles are not allowed to enter the Khyndailad and Police Bazaar area, as police expect large crowds to gather to celebrate the last night of the year. The move has been taken to reduce traffic jams and to keep the public safe. Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said that all vehicles heading towards Police Bazaar will be stopped and redirected.
