Students of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), including the NEHUSU and the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), NEHU Unit, on Monday, met Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar, who is also the Chief Rector of NEHU, and submitted a memorandum urging him to expedite the appointment of a full-time Vice-Chancellor.
The student groups stressed that the university needs a Vice-Chancellor with a clear vision and strong leadership who can guide the institution and restore it to its former standing.
They expressed hope that a full-time Vice-Chancellor would be appointed in the coming days, citing the assurance given by the Governor.
