The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has said the it would not grant trading licence to quick-commerce giant Blinkit to conduct business in Meghalaya. Speaking to the media, KHADC chief executive member Winston Tony Lyngdoh said, "The executive committee would not issue a trading licence to any platform whose business model threatens indigenous traders and small businesses." The Meghalaya government will launch the Chief Minister's Football Fan-Park in Shillong on June 26, offering football fans a free public venue to watch selected FIFA World Cup 2026 matches on giant screens. The fan park will be set up at the S.R.G.T. Parking Lot in Polo and will screen matches scheduled at fan-friendly timings, including kick-offs at 9.30 pm, 10.30 pm and 12.30 am. The Election Commission has commenced the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Meghalaya, with the final electoral roll scheduled to be published on October 7, 2026. As per the schedule, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits from June 30 to July 29, while the draft electoral roll will be published on August 5. The period for filing claims and objections will continue till September 4. Citizens have been urged to keep the required documents ready, fill their enumeration forms through the Voters Portal, and inform BLOs about new voters, shifted electors, deceased voters, duplicate entries, or any corrections needed in the electoral roll.
