What kind of treatment do women face in police custody? What kind of questions are asked during interrogation? Siya Goel had searched for answers to all these questions on the internet even before her arrest.
During the investigation of the Ketan Agarwal murder case in Pune, Maharashtra, the police have revealed this explosive information about Siya Goel. According to investigators, even before Siya was arrested in this case, she had searched on her mobile’s search engine about police interrogation and how women are treated in police custody.
Besides this, the main accused Siya Goel had also searched for detailed information about murder investigation procedures and the widely discussed Raja Raghuvanshi murder case.
According to investigating officers, search history from Siya’s two seized mobile phones showed multiple searches on topics like how women are treated in police custody, how interrogation is conducted in murder cases, and how Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, got bail from the High Court.
The police suspect that through these searches, she was trying to understand the legal process and prepare herself in advance for a possible interrogation.
It is worth mentioning that the death of 25-year-old Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal was initially considered an accident. But as the investigation progressed, suspecting it to be a pre-planned murder, the police arrested his fiancée Siya Goel and Siya’s close friend Chetan Chaudhary. According to police allegations, Ketan was taken to Lohgad Fort in Pune and pushed into a ravine to be killed.
The investigation has also revealed that before the incident, Siya and Chetan had searched online for various ways to commit murder. Investigators claim that the two also communicated over the phone 2,004 times between January and June.
Earlier, the police had also conducted a reconstruction at the crime scene and raised allegations that the murder was planned and preparations were made at Lohgad Fort. For the purpose of investigation, permission from the court has also been sought for Siya’s polygraph test.
