The hearing on the Meghalaya government’s plea seeking cancellation of bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi in the sensational Raja Raghuvanshi murder case was scheduled to be taken up on Tuesday, May 12. However, the matter was deferred after lawyers involved in the case requested additional time before the court. On Tuesday’s proceedings, counsel appearing in the matter sought a fresh date for further arguments, following which the court fixed the next hearing for May 18. The Meghalaya government has challenged the earlier bail order granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, arguing that the case involves serious allegations and that the investigation remains sensitive. The prosecution is expected to push strongly for cancellation of bail during the next hearing.
