: Entry of all vehicles towards Lachaumiere via the Dhankheti-DIPR Office route will be prohibited round the clock from May 12 until further notice due to ongoing infrastructure work by the Public Works Department Shillong Central Division.
According to the public notice, the project involves construction of an aqueduct channel with RCC slab covering and tiling along the Old Jowai Road stretch from AIR to Loreto Convent School junction. Authorities stated that the work is aimed at strengthening road infrastructure and improving the locality in the long term.
Residents and commuters have been urged to follow traffic diversions and guidelines issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Traffic Police during the execution period.
