UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh on Monday denied reports that any of the party’s MLAs were planning to switch to the BJP.
Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said he had spoken to all UDP legislators and they had assured him that they had no intention of joining the BJP.
He attributed the speculation to the recent meeting between UDP MLAs and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, which, he said, was related to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).
