The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Thursday officially announced senior lawyer Vivanstone Kharngap Kynta as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Shillong Parliamentary by-election. The announcement was made by UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh in the presence of party general secretary Titosstarwell Chyne, party MLAs and MDCs during a programme held at the party office. Kharngapkynta was also formally inducted into the UDP during the event. The MP by-election is to be reconducted in Shillong following the demise VPP MP Dr Ricky Syngkon.
