Salesforce and the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, have entered into a collaboration to strengthen digital workforce readiness in the state, targeting more than 10,000 learners by 2027. The initiative, announced at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 in Agartala, will leverage Salesforce’s Trailhead learning platform to provide self-paced digital and technology education to students, youth, government employees and entrepreneurs.
The programme will offer guided learning paths covering customer relationship management (CRM), business analysis, technology fundamentals and other industry-relevant areas. Salesforce will provide online orientation resources, while DIT will identify participants through government departments, educational institutions and skill-development agencies and expand access across the state.
The partnership comes as Tripura accelerates its digital infrastructure push through the Tripura IT and Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ), a planned IT Park and an AI Centre of Excellence. The state has also expanded its e-Office initiative from the Secretariat to all three tiers of the Panchayati Raj system within just over a year.
The initiative could have wider implications for Shillong and the Northeast by strengthening the region’s pool of digitally skilled talent. Increased availability of industry-ready professionals in neighbouring states could support IT/ITeS expansion, entrepreneurship, remote employment and technology-led business linkages across the region.
Tripura IT Secretary KiranGitte said the partnership would drive innovation and inclusive growth, while Salesforce South Asia President and CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya said accessible, practical learning would support India’s next phase of digital growth.
