Speculation has arisen regarding Hardik Pandya’s future with the Mumbai Indians. Comments made by batting coach Kieron Pollard have triggered this speculation. After the match against Rajasthan Royals last Sunday, he stated that they are not satisfied with Hardik’s leadership.
The Mumbai management is disappointed with the team’s performance in this year’s IPL. They are unhappy with Hardik not just as a captain, but also as a cricketer. Team officials will soon meet in a briefing to identify the issues.
Pollard said, “Discussion regarding Hardik as a captain is certain. Personally, what he expected did not materialize at all. As support staff, we did not get what we wanted. However, one thing is clear—we made every possible effort for the team’s positive results. Every facility and opportunity required to lead the team was provided to Hardik.”
Pollard has dropped hints of major changes in the team before the next season. According to him, putting aside personal considerations, all decisions will be made in the best interest of the team.
