Oriflame launches longevity science whitepaper to redefine the future of skincare

Global Swedish beauty and wellbeing company Oriflame has launched its latest whitepaper, *Beyond Anti-ageing: How Longevity Science Is Changing Beauty*, outlining how advances in longevity science are expected to reshape the skincare industry by shifting the focus from combating visible signs of ageing to promoting lifelong skin health, resilience and wellbeing.

The whitepaper comes at a time when the United Nations projects that the global population aged 80 years and above will triple by 2050, while many children born today are expected to live well into their 90s. Against this demographic backdrop, Oriflame said the beauty industry is increasingly focusing on improving healthspan alongside lifespan through science-led and preventive skincare solutions.

The publication highlights the transition from traditional anti-ageing products to pro-longevity skincare, explaining that skin ageing is influenced by interconnected biological processes as well as nutrition, sleep, stress and environmental factors. Built around the scientific framework of the Hallmarks of Ageing, the paper also features Oripeptide-3, Oriflame’s patented peptide technology, reflecting the company’s nearly 60 years of global beauty expertise and more than 15 years of research into multi-pathway skin biology.

Edyta Kurek, Senior Vice President and GM, Oriflame India, said Indian consumers are increasingly seeking science-backed skincare that supports healthy ageing rather than quick cosmetic fixes. Lene Visdal-Johnsen, Director Scientific Research, Claims & Innovation, said advances in longevity science are enabling innovations that strengthen long-term skin function and resilience. Oriflame added that the whitepaper is the first in a new series on longevity and wellbeing, with the next edition scheduled for release later this year.

In Shillong, the company’s focus on longevity science is expected to align with the growing demand for premium skincare and wellness products in the region. As consumers in Shillong increasingly embrace preventive healthcare, holistic wellness and evidence-based beauty solutions, retailers and distributors could benefit from rising interest in science-led skincare innovations, creating fresh opportunities for premium beauty brands in the Northeast market.
