Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam public rally held in Nongpoh

A public rally was organized at Nongpoh by young women and mothers of Ri-Bhoi district to carry an important message to every village, locality, and district across the state of Meghalaya. The aim was to make women aware of the honor and recognition being given to them, and how this will bring positive transformation in the progress and development of society.

Speaking on the rally, BJP Meghalaya Morcha president said, the 33% reservation for women in governance is a historic step, enabling women to take part as lawmakers and representatives in various platforms such as Members of Parliament (MP), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA), and Members of District Council (MDC). This initiative encourages women to work together, strengthen unity, and bring meaningful change.

“Women’s participation in leadership will also help address many challenges faced by young people, especially in education, employment, and opportunities. When women are empowered with authority, they can better protect and guide the younger generation”, she said.
