The Meghalaya Unified Teachers Association (MUTA) on Tuesday called on Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and demanded that teachers under the Structured Pay Framework be included in the upcoming Sixth State Pay Commission.
Briefing media after the meeting, MUTA president Aristotle Rymbai said the delegation apprised the Chief Minister of their long-pending demands.
“Our first demand is inclusion of Structured Pay teachers under the upcoming Sixth State Pay Commission. Our second demand is notification of service conditions for teachers under the Structured Pay Framework,” Rymbai said.
He said other service-related concerns were also discussed.
Terming the meeting positive, Rymbai said, “The Chief Minister has assured us that he will look into the matter.”
He said the detailed outcome will be shared with all SPF teachers at a general meeting to be convened soon.
