Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on April 15, inaugurated the Block Integrated Development Complex of the Nongstoin Community and Rural Development (C&RD) Block, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots administration and improving public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasised that making governance more accessible, responsive, and people-centric remains a key priority of the government. He noted that the newly inaugurated complex would significantly enhance administrative efficiency and facilitate better outreach to communities in the region.
Highlighting the state’s broader infrastructure push, Sangma announced that an investment of Rs 200 crore has been made to upgrade 46 block offices across Meghalaya. In addition, 10 new blocks have been sanctioned and are expected to be completed over the next few years. These initiatives aim to decentralise governance and ensure that essential services reach citizens more effectively.
