The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has announced an eight-hour shutdown of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme on June 15, from 10 am to 6 pm.
According to the department, the shutdown has been necessitated to facilitate the replacement of pumping machinery at the Stage-I and Stage-Il pumping stations.
During this period, the water supply will be suspended across Shillong city and its adjoining areas.
The department has also assured that every effort will be made to restore and resume the supply at the earliest.
