East Khasi Hills police crack down on drug trafficking syndicate, seize heroin worth Rs 1 crore

In a resolute stand against the pernicious grip of drug trafficking, the East Khasi Hills police conducted a decisive operation in the heart of Shillong, thwarting the nefarious designs of a drug syndicate aiming to ensnare the youth into addiction. With commendable efficiency and determination, law enforcement officers apprehended four traffickers and seized a staggering quantity of heroin valued at ₹1 crore, alongside ₹45,000 in cash.

The nightlong operation, characterized by meticulous planning and swift execution, underscored the unwavering commitment of the police force to safeguard the community from the scourge of narcotics. Lauding the successful bust, Meghalaya’s Director General of Police, L.R. Bishnoi, affirmed that the investigation is actively pursuing leads to dismantle the entire supply network, thereby disrupting the flow of illegal substances into the region.

“The drug mafia seeks to enslave our youth to addiction, but we refuse to succumb to their machinations,” said DGP Bishnoi.
