
Several roads in and around Sohra will be closed to vehicular traffic on September 4 to facilitate the 5th Sohra International Half Marathon. According to a public notice, the restrictions will be in effect from 4:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
The affected routes include the road from Mawkdok towards Sohra starting from Laitsohpliah near Meili Resort, as well as the stretches from Mawkma, Laitmawsiang, and Laitryngew leading towards the Shillong-Sohra road.
Additional closures will be enforced at Dainthlen Junction and the road from Khliehshnong, Sohra towards the Shillong-Sohra road.
The Laitkynsew-Sohra road via Mawmluh and the Lad Sohbar-Sohra road will also remain closed during the specified hours.
Travellers, tourists, and the general public are advised to plan their itineraries in advance to avoid
inconvenience.
The administration clarified that emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire tenders, are exempted from these restrictions.
