Recently The Meghalaya Energy Power Generation Corporation Limited (MePGCL) on Thursday announced restrictions on the movement of vehicles for a period of eight days, starting from March 31, at the Umiam Bridge in view of the ongoing retrofitting work which is very essential. Actually the MePGCL had stated that there will be complete traffic blockage of the Umiam Bridge for a minimum of six hours from 8 am to 2 pm on March 31.
