To ensure transparency and fairness in public recruitment in Assam government examinations, Assam government has decided to introduced Public Examination Act in the state. About the newly implementated act, the act prohibits malpractice with penalties of up to 10 years imprisonment and fines up to ₹10 crore, and examinees found guilty may also be barred from future examinations. Assam Direct Recruitment Examination, 2024 (ADRE) is about to take place on September 15 for Grade III and Grade IV.

Amid online trading scam in Assam, Cops arrested many accused involved in the crime. Prime accused of the crime Sumi Borah and Tarkik Borah were under police radar since the news came into light. On Thursday, Assam Police chief GP Singh posted on X saying “The game is over for them. Compliments to the team STF." Sumi Borah and her husband Tarkik Borah both have surrendered infront of the police. On Wednesday, Sumi Borah released a video saying, "A lot of defamatory news about me is being circulated about me in the media of which even 10% is not true. The media conducted my trial and hanged me even before courts started the legal process." Further, 59 people have been arrested and 28 cases registered involved in the online trading scam across Assam.

Illegal immigrants in the state specially Aadhar Card holders, has surpassed the state's population raising concern about fraudulent applications. Following, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that new applicants for Aadhaar cards in the state will be required to submit their National Register of Citizens (NRC) application receipt number. Strict rules will be initiated in issuing Aadhar Card, process will get tougher in the state, Assam. People who didn't apply for NRC will not get Aadhar card in the new process. Assam has been grappling with online trading scam of 2, 200 crore. Earlier, 22 years-old boy was arrested from Dibrugarh, Assam. Assam police has started a crackdown into the scam where 38 more were arrested. However, few more accused are under police radar, Assamese actress Sumi Borah and her husband.
