Amidst trading scam, Assam CM promises to create more jobs rather than only one lakh

Assam has been grappling with online trading scam of 2, 200 crore. Earlier, 22 years-old boy was arrested from Dibrugarh, Assam. Assam police has started a crackdown into the scam where 38 more were arrested. However, few more accused are under police radar, Assamese actress Sumi Borah and her husband. Police are still investigating their current location, no update has been received yet. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reacting to the incident urged Assam people to be aware of the scam. He also mentioned about the 38 arrested accuse in connection with the scam. On the other hand, Assam Chief Minister has announced to create 50, 000 more jobs by 2025 in the state, Assam.

A police officer, working at the DGP office, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the online trading scam, as per sources. Suruj Deka is the police officer that was arrested. Anjan Supriyam, the main suspect in the case, admitted to taking part in the online trading scam, which led to Deka's arrest. Deka is now being questioned by CID officials. Meghalaya deputy CM files defamation suit against Vincent H. Pala

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has served a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Congress leader and MPCC president Vincent H. Pala. The lawsuit demands an apology for Pala's remarks during a press conference on August 22, where he accused Dhar of being the "spokesperson" of the RSS and BJP and under investigation by the CBI. The notice, issued by Dhar's legal team, termed Pala's statements as "malicious" and "falsehoods" aimed at tarnishing Dhar’s public image. It demands a public apology, withdrawal of the remarks, and Rs 100 crore in damages for the defamation. Failure to comply within seven days will result in legal action, the notice warned.

Assam Cabinet approves key measures for indigenous people’s land, culture protection

To protect and safeguard land, language and culture of the indigenous people of Assam, 57 recommendations on Clause 6 of Assam Accord to be implemented approved by the Assam Cabinet. Assam CM said, "A decision has been taken to implement 85 per cent of the recommendations and we will take up the remaining with the central government as these fall within its purview." He also said, "historic milestone for Assam and stands out as one of the most significant efforts since Independence to protect the rights of the people of the state." However, announcement of the implementation will be done within three to four days after meeting with Ministers and Organizations of Assam.

The movement of heavy vehicles has been temporarily suspended by the Assam police on NH-27 between Jatinga and Harangajao in Assam's Dima Hasao district.
