Meghalaya defeated Rajasthan 4-0 in Group A of the Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2025 in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, thanks to a hat-trick by Deibormame Tongper. In the 50th, 54th, and 74th minutes, Deibormame scored, with the final goal coming from the penalty spot. The Meghalaya team, coached by Bobby L. Nongbet, had taken the lead when Riborlang L. Lyngkhoi scored the first goal in the 39th minute with a stunning pass that looped and sank into the net from within the box.
Early in the second half, Deibor was on the receiving end of a diagonal pass and tapped in his first goal. A few minutes later, he added a second goal with his left boot while going uncontested. After drawing a foul in the box, Deibor himself converted the spot kick. The next match for Meghalaya is against Kerala on Saturday. The only teams to advance to the quarterfinals are the top teams in each of the eight groups.
