Gujarat’s economic policy framework is set to receive a significant boost as Marwadi University prepares to host the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC) from January 11–12, 2026, organised by the Government of Gujarat. The conference places education and skill development at the centre of long-term economic transformation, in line with the visions of Viksit Bharat@2047 and Viksit Gujarat@2047.
As part of this policy momentum, the university has submitted a ₹1,000 crore investment MoU proposal to the Education Department, Government of Gujarat. The investment plan covers state-of-the-art academic infrastructure, advanced laboratories, modern sports facilities, next-generation hostels, and a 10,000 sq ft innovation and start-up centre, alongside a dedicated academic block for continuing education. Policymakers see such spending as critical for innovation capacity, job creation, and productivity growth.
VGRC will be guided by the theme “Vocal for Local” and will engage four regional zones while drawing participation from Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Netherlands, and organisations including JETRO, ICBC, USISPF, World Bank, and the Russian Federation — reinforcing Gujarat’s global economic linkages. The two-day programme will feature seminars, exhibitions, MoU signings, vendor development, buyer-seller meets, and B2B-B2G interactions, addressing key sectors such as MSMEs, start-ups, AI, sustainability, tourism, culture, circular economy, auto and precision engineering, and food processing. Trustee Dhruv Marwadi and Provost R.B. Jadeja said the initiative will support inclusive, innovation-driven growth, strengthening Gujarat’s role as a leading investment-ready economy.
