
Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) today announced a significant milestone in its network expansion journey, adding more than 100,000 new towers across India within the first six months of FY24-25. This strategic enhancement underscores Vi’s commitment to delivering superior connectivity and expanding its 4G and 5G footprint nationwide. In line with this achievement, Vi launched an innovative campaign featuring “Netties,” animated mobile tower avatars portrayed as a cricket team, symbolizing the brand’s network strength and agility during the IPL season. Developed by Ogilvy India, the campaign includes two TV commercials running across multiple platforms including TV, OTT, radio, and social media.
Vi has successfully rolled out 5G services in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Patna, with plans underway for Delhi and Bangalore. The 4G network has been upgraded across key spectrum bands from 900 MHz to 2300 MHz, enhancing both indoor and outdoor coverage and serving over 1.07 billion people. these network enhancements will support the region’s growing digital and business demands by providing faster data speeds and more reliable connectivity. This upgrade is expected to reinforce Vi’s presence in this important commercial hub in Northeast India.
Avneesh Khosla, Vi’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that the network expansion is driven by strategic deployment focused on high-traffic areas to ensure a future-ready, high-performance network for customers.
