Union Minister Krishan Pal has reviewed the Jal Jeevan Mission in Shillong

Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Krishan Pal Gurjar, made a visit to Mawlai Mawtawar in Shillong to evaluate the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the Northeast. This area, which is part of the rural water supply initiative under JJM, has experienced notable improvements in the provision of tap water connections to households. Gurjar conveyed his satisfaction with the execution of the scheme and acknowledged the presence of natural water resources in the region. As per official statistics, 82.89% of households in Meghalaya now have access to tap water connections through the Jal Jeevan Mission. Gurjar participated in a program at a hotel in Shillong, which included presentations on significant development initiatives and ongoing projects. The event featured an overview of DONER projects, updates regarding the Cooperation Department, the status of MGNREGA and PMAY(G) in the East Khasi Hills District, the implementation of the JJM Scheme, and a special presentation on Shiitake Mushroom Production in Shillong.
