Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is cultivating a greener tomorrow with its ambitious ‘Green Wave Initiative’ during this year’s Environment Month. Aligning with the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, TKM has distributed over 7,000 saplings to employees, emphasizing their commitment to ‘Establishing a Future Society in Harmony with Nature’. Employees are actively participating in planting and nurturing these saplings, fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship.
Since adopting the Miyawaki Method of Afforestation in 2009, TKM has transformed 112 acres of its Bidadi facility into a thriving ecosystem hosting 790 native species. Notably, this method has been pivotal in sequestering 30.86 tons of carbon per acre, showcasing TKM’s dedication to environmental conservation and sustainability.Mr. B. TKM’s Ecozone, spanning 25 acres at its Bidadi plant, serves as an educational hub for environmental conservation, impacting over 42,000 students and stakeholders. It features diverse forests cultivated using the Miyawaki Concept across various forest types and thematic parks.In Siliguri, TKM’s initiatives have sparked enthusiasm among local stakeholders and consumers.
