The state government has confirmed that it has fully complied with the High Court of Meghalaya’s orders regarding the management of stray dogs. The PIL, filed as a Public Interest Litigation, aimed to direct the state to take appropriate steps to address the issue. The court extended the directive to cover the entire state of Meghalaya, directing the state to implement measures under the Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001. Advocate General Yangi submitted a compliance report, confirming full compliance with the court’s directions. The court granted the advocate’s request for time to review the report.
