Marak has been established by the state government to examine ways to preserve Garo culture and history. The committee is scheduled to meet this month. Following the dispute over the removal of the cenotaph in Lower Babupara, Tura, the committee’s establishment assumes relevance. Cabinet Minister Marcuise N. Marak will lead the committee, per the announcement made on April 3.
