PM Modi authorizes the creation of new JNVs and Kendriya Vidyalayas in Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the creation of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Assam, marking a major step towards improving the state of education in the state. There will be four Kendriya Vidyalayas in Assam overall, with one of them being in Jagiroad, Morigaon district. Six additional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas would be established in the districts of Sonitpur, Charaideo, Hojai, Majuli, South Salmara-Mankachar, and West Karbi Anglong in addition to the new KV.
The estimated total cost of the project, which will be carried out over eight years beginning in 2025–2026, is Rs 5,872.08 crore. Rs 3,009.37 crore for operating expenses and Rs 2,862.71 crore for capital expenditures are included in the allocation. ...
