Three Assamese films have secured coveted spots in the 55th International Film Festival
An important milestone for the Assamese film industry has been reached with the acceptance of three Assamese films into the renowned Indian Panorama section of the 55th International Film Festival of India. At the festival, Assamese cinema will be represented by "Juiphool" by Jadumoni Dutta, "Rador Pakhi" by Dr. Bobby Sarma Baruah, and "Swargarath" by Rajesh Bhuyan. Out of 384 entries from all around India, 25 feature films were chosen by the Indian Panorama jury, which was chaired by filmmaker Dr. Chandra Prakash Dwivedi. "Swatantrya Veer Savarkar," a Hindi film directed by Randeep Hooda, will initiate the feature film block.
