Roaring Debut: India unveils first movie with a real lion in the lead role

A full-length feature film featuring a live lion is being produced for the first time in India. V. Mathiyalagan is producing the film, which is titled “Singha,” on a large scale under the auspices of Etcetera Entertainment in association with Thithir Film House Pvt Ltd. Shrrita Rao plays the lead role in Singha, which is being directed by K. C. Ravi Devan. For those who do not know, Kamal Haasan’s associate director for “Ulaganayagan,” K. C. Ravithevan, is a graduate of the film institute.

“Singha,” the 14th film produced by V. Mathiyalagan, is a pan-Indian production in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The seasoned producer gained notoriety for having provided funding for movies like “Appa,” “Kolaiyuthir Kaalam,” “Maha,” “Marainthirunthu Paarkum Marmam Enna,” and “Saamaniyan.” “We are making this challenging film by strictly following all required protocols and guidelines,” director K C Ravithevan remarked in reference to the movie. Even though they enjoyed the plot, some of the top actresses we approached for the part were hesitant to play a real lion. However, Shrrita Rao took a bold stand and has been performing admirably.
