Ri-Bhoi Police hailed for exemplary work on traffic regulations

In an effort to provide special awareness on traffic rules and Motor Vehicles Act to students, the Nongpoh Police Station along with the Nongpoh Traffic Branch has received wide appreciation for taking the initiative to educate the public on safe driving practices, in which their efforts have significantly contributed to improving driving behaviour along the National Highway. As part of this initiative, students of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Byrnihat, including law students on Monday attended the traffic awareness programme, expressed their satisfaction and happiness witnessing the hard work of the police in addressing issues related to traffic violations and also stated that as students, they strongly support the efforts of the Ri-Bhoi District Police.

During the awareness programme on Traffic Rules and the Motor Vehicles Act, theoretical training was conducted in the conference hall of Nongpoh Police Station, the session was led by Rubul Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Nongpoh Traffic Branch, along with other police officers. After the theory session, the students were taken to the highway for practical demonstrations on traffic management, particularly in crowded public areas. Students from MGU and the Law Department expressed great joy receiving such an opportunity to participate in a learning programme with the police and believe this experience will benefit them greatly and enable them to share this knowledge with others. Furthermore, the students praised Vivekananda Singh Rathore, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ri-Bhoi, for his dedication in conducting awareness programmes and regular inspections along National Highway 06.

They noted that due to the commitment of the Ri-Bhoi Police Department, traffic movement has improved and accident cases have reduced significantly. Students of Mahatma Gandhi University also shared that they were delighted to take part in the practical demonstration on managing public transport and learning about various legal provisions and penalties under traffic laws.They extended their gratitude to SSP V.S. Rathore and all police officers, stating that due to their initiatives, the number of accidents and other harmful incidents on the highway has decreased. They also acknowledged that the consistent efforts of the police have encouraged the public to follow traffic laws more strictly.
