Renault Kwid EV Revealed Overseas!

Renault has officially launched the much-anticipated Kwid EV in Brazil, where it will be marketed as the ‘Kwid E-Tech.’ Sharing its platform with the Dacia Spring EV, this electric version of the popular hatchback is a key part of Renault’s push toward electrification. Test vehicles have been spotted multiple times in India, suggesting an imminent launch there. The Kwid EV is expected to rival models like the Citroen e-C3 and Tata Tiago EV.

Design-wise, the Kwid EV draws heavily from its Dacia counterpart. The front features a closed grille with vertical slats and projector headlights on either side of the bumper. The sides remain similar to the petrol version, with black wheel arch claddings, indicator lights on the ORVMs, black side cladding, and 14-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, it sports Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and halogen reverse lights.

Inside, the cabin is revamped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital cluster, USB-C ports, and a height-adjustable steering wheel. Safety features include six airbags, ABS, ESP, hill-start assist, rear camera, TPMS, ISOFIX, and more. The Kwid EV runs on a 26.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering up to 250 km range and around 65 hp peak power.
