The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of West Jaintia Hills district has informed all Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries that the distribution of monthly ration entitlements will be strictly linked to the completion of Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC verification.
The directive follows an order of the Supreme Court mandating Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC for all NFSA beneficiaries. As per the notification, from January 2026, monthly entitlements for Priority Household (PHH) ration card holders will be issued based on their e-KYC completion status. In the case of Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) ration card holders, the monthly ration entitlement will be withheld until e-KYC verification is completed.
The e-KYC process can be carried out at all Fair Price Shop centres through e-PoS machines, at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, or through the Mera e-KYC app, which can be downloaded for verification purposes. Beneficiaries have been advised to complete their e- KYC at the earliest to avoid any disruption in ration benefits.
