Prime Minister Modi reaches Northeast for multi-state tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day tour to the Northeast. The Prime Minister has been expecting projects in Assam, Mizoram, and Manipur valued at approximately Rs 35,000 crore, either for their inaugurations or for the laying of foundation stones. The Prime Minister will participate in the celebration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s 100th birthday at the veterinary field in Khanapara, Guwahati, on September 13, 2025, in the evening.

In the event, which will also feature the release of a biography on the Bharat Ratna and the RBI’s issuance of a commemorative coin, about 1,200 artists will perform 14 Bhupendra Sangeets in 18 minutes. The Prime Minister will travel to Mangaldai and Numaligarh on September 14 to lay the groundwork and officially open a number of projects totaling more than Rs 18,530 crore.

He will travel to Mizoram on September 13 to lay the cornerstone and officially open a number of projects, including the first-ever Bairabi-Sairang railway line to Aizawl. The Prime Minister will depart Aizawl for Manipur, where he will lay the cornerstones of many projects totaling more than Rs 7,300 crore in Churachandpur and launch further projects totaling more than Rs 1,200 crore in Imphal.
