Nongkseh Lift 11th CM’s International Gold Cup After 1–0 Final Victory

Meghalaya’s Nongkseh Sports Social and Cultural Club won the 11th All India Chief Minister’s International Gold Cup Football Tournament after beating BSF (Jalandhar) 1–0 in the final at Jorethang, South Sikkim. The Shillong-based side sealed the title with a decisive 51st-minute goal scored by Kynsaibor Lhuid.

Nongkseh dominated long periods of the match, controlling possession and dictating the pace. Goalkeeper Daraphun Talang also played a crucial role, producing an important save to deny BSF’s only effort on target.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated the team, calling it a “Fabulous victory” and praising their discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Nongkseh received the trophy and a prize money of ₹20 lakh.
Kynsai was named Man of the Tournament and won a Tata Tiago. The champions remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, defeating teams like Himalayan Gangtok, Eastern Railway, NEROCA FC and Red Panda FC. Their impressive run has earned them a pre-season friendly invite from NorthEast United FC on February 8 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
