The Motor Sports Club of Meghalaya (MSCM) will organise a three-day motor sport event titled “MSCM Offroad Trophy 2.0” at Mawkdok-Tiewlieh, Mawjrong and Madan Lyngkhi in Laitlyngkot, East Khasi Hills district, from January 15 to 17. The Northeast-level event is expected to witness the participation of around 40 to 50 competitors from different parts of Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and other northeastern states.MSCM president Eugene Niangti, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the event has been designed to provide a platform for young motorsport enthusiasts to showcase their talent.

He added that participation in the tournament would offer young drivers an opportunity to gain recognition while also helping them further develop their skills and confidence. Niangti said the objective of organising the Offroad Trophy is to tap the immense talent of youth in the region and create a memorable event that inspires and empowers the next generation. He also noted that the event aims to promote tourism in the state by highlighting Meghalaya as a destination for adventure and motorsports.

The organisers expressed confidence that the event would attract motorsport enthusiasts and visitors, thereby contributing to the growth of adventure sports and tourism in the state. With the dust set to rise and engines poised to roar through the valleys, MSCM believes the Offroad Trophy 2.0 could become a milestone moment for motorsport in Meghalaya. Beyond competition and bragging rights, organisers hope the event ignites a wider movement—one that encourages more youngsters to embrace the discipline, inspires communities to take pride in homegrown talent, and positions Meghalaya firmly on the adventure-sport map of India.
