Meghalaya: West Jaintia dominates youth league Zone B, secures top spots in both U-14 and U-16

The West Jaintia District Sports Association (WJDSA) continues to dominate Zone B of the Meghalaya Youth League 2024, securing commanding positions in both the U-14 and U-16 categories. In a decisive U-14 match, WJDSA triumphed 4-0 over Amlarem Block Sports Association, with Kaisarmi Dkhar delivering a hat-trick. The U-16 match ended in a 1-1 draw, further solidifying WJDSA’s lead. WJDSA leads the U-14 group with 21 points, holding an eight-point lead over second-placed Amlarem. In the U-16 standings, they boast 17 points, six points ahead of their competitors.

Meanwhile, in other Zone B action, Laskein Block Sports Association drew 2-2 with East Jaintia District Football Association in U-14, while East Jaintia secured a 1-0 victory in the U-16 match. In Zone C, Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association crushed Sohra Sports Association with a 5-0 win in U-14 and a 10-0 blowout in U-16. Hat-tricks were scored by Iaisynroplang Syiemlieh and Me-u-ba-ai Sumer in their respective categories. Shillong Sports Association also defeated Western Ri-Bhoi Association 4-0 in U-16.

Nongstoin District Sports Association led the charge in Zone D, defeating Mawshynrut Sports Association 5-0 in U-14 and 4-0 in U-16, with Ronifield Dkhar Rit claiming a hat-trick. Pyndengumiong District Sports Association claimed two 1-0 wins over Mawkyrwat District Sports Association.With Nongstoin leading both age groups in Zone D, the top teams from each zone are now preparing for the quarterfinals set for next month.
