Meghalaya Sends 25 Young Leaders to Delhi for Viksit Bharat Dialogue

Twenty-five youth representatives from Meghalaya are set to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leader Dialogue 2026, part of the 29th National Youth Festival, occurring at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from January 9 to 12, 2026. These participants were selected from nearly 50 lakh entries, highlighting the state’s talent and leadership potential. A significant moment will occur on January 11, 2026, when they will engage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a vital step in their leadership journey. D.D. Shira, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs in Meghalaya, emphasized that Viksit Bharat addresses themes like Youth and Democracy, Governance in a Developed India, and Women-led Democracy, while detailing the event’s itinerary. Additionally, Meghalaya proudly features two innovators, Nishant Kumar Singh and Necharika Singh from the National Institute of Technology, Shillong, whose Smart Braille Watch aims to assist visually impaired individuals by providing accessible information through touch. They are currently in New Delhi for their national presentation before the Prime Minister and industry experts.
