Meghalaya Judo Association felicitates state players

The Meghalaya Judo Association organised a Felicitation Programme on 04th December 2025 at 3:00 PM at Hotel Pegasus Crown, Wards Lake Road, Police Bazar, Shillong, Meghalaya 793001 to honour two medal winners and Shri Jonathan Larinsanga, Coach-cum- Manager who accompanied the Meghalaya Team to the Sub-Junior National Judo Championship 2025-2026, held at the Lal Bahadur Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad from 16th to 20th November 2025. The athletes felicitated were: Master ADRIC LYNGDOH NONGLAIT (East Khasi Hills District) – Silver Medal in -66 kg category, Miss LARIKA KHARKHYLLIANG (Eastern West Khasi Hills District) – Bronze Medal in – 48 kg category. The Association presented CASH AWARDS to both Judokas and a Special Gift to the Coach-cum-Manager in recognition of their achievements.

The programme was attended by Mr. John Lyngdoh, Working President; Mr. Dipak Mallick, General Secretary; Mr. Sujit Kumar Chanda, Joint Secretary of the Association; along with other members and guests. Leading the programme, Mr. John Lyngdoh expressed that this is a proud moment for the Meghalaya Judo Association and for the State of Meghalaya. He highlighted that out of the eight participating Judokas, two athletes secured medals, bringing pride to the State after a long interval at the national level-especially at a time when Meghalaya is preparing to host the 39th National Games 2027. Mr. Lyngdoh congratulated both medal winners and their family members present at the event, as well as the Coach-cum-Manager for his hard work and leadership during the championship.

Mr. John Lyngdoh, Mr. Dipak Mallick and Mr. Sujit Kumar Chanda jointly stated that this remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for Judo in Meghalaya, showcasing the growing talent among young Judokas in the State. They extended their heartfelt congratulations to both medalists and wished them continued success in future competitions. The Association also acknowledged the Coaches, Training Staff, and Family Members whose unwavering support enabled these young athletes to excel at the national level. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. John Lyngdoh, followed by a lunch for all attendees.
