Meghalaya Chief Minister Felicitates SSLC Exam Toppers

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday felicitated the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2026 toppers from Khasi and Jaintia Hills region.
The felicitation programme was also attended by State education minister Lakhmen Rymbui and Commissioner and Secretary, Education, Vijay Kumar Mantri besides parents, teachers and officials from the Education department.
Congratulating the toppers on their remarkable achievement, Chief Minister Sangma, said a few years back the pass percentage of SSCL examinations was very low and this disturbed him greatly.
“It was very sad to see the low pass percentage but things have started improving and I am positive that in the long run we will be able to bring about significant changes in the education scenario,” he said.
He also informed that a similar program to felicitate the toppers from Garo Hills will be held on April 18 in Tura.
“The purpose of this program today is very simple, it is just to tell you that we are proud of you and your hard work and perseverance is appreciated and recognised,” and urged the toppers to carry on with their discipline, persistence, dedication and diligence.
“Remember to follow your heart and passion in life yet remain humble and grounded,” he urged the toppers concluding his address.
