MBOSE SSLC 2026: Digital Results Released as Top Scorers Celebrate Record-Breaking Marks

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) formally declared the results for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2026 today, marking an important turning point for thousands of students across the state. This year, the board transitioned to a purely digital announcement, opting not to display physical results at its offices in Shillong or Tura.

The top honors for the 2026 academic year go to Wangaal Lama of Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School, who secured the first position with an impressive score of 585 marks. Lama’s academic excellence spanned a diverse range of subjects, including English, mathematics, science and technology, social science, health and physical education, and Nepali.

Following closely in the second position is Vishal Kumar from Embee Rosebud Higher Secondary School, who earned 576 marks. His subject portfolio included English, mathematics, science and technology, social science, health and physical education, and Hindi. The third spot on the state merit list was claimed by Prajukta Roy of Seven Set Higher Secondary School, who scored 575 marks, excelling in computer science and additional English alongside core subjects.

Competition at the top was exceptionally tight this year, as evidenced by a three-way tie for the fourth position. Samdi Mukhim (St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School), Nathanael Mantre Laloo (Seven Set Higher Secondary School), and Wandarihun Lyngkhoi (Anderson Higher Secondary School) all secured 572 marks to round out the top tier of achievers.

The 2026 examinations were conducted earlier than the previous year, running from January 20 to February 11. This shift in schedule follows the 2025 cycle, where exams were held in late February and results were declared on April 5 with a pass percentage of 87.10%. While the board continues to analyze the final pass statistics for this year, the swift release of digital scorecards has been welcomed by the student community.

Students can now access their detailed marks and download their scorecards via the official MBOSE portals. The board has directed candidates to mbose.in, mboseresults.in, or megresults.nic.in to verify their performance. As Meghalaya celebrates these young achievers, the focus now shifts to higher secondary admissions for the upcoming academic session.
